Default Business leaders call for less EU red tape

http://news.ft.com/cms/s/8079a484-3c...00e2511c8.html

Quote:
The five largest British business organisations will today gather in Brussels to urge the new European commissioners to halt the tide of employment red tape heading to the UK.
We all know the best way to halt the ever increasing tide!

Quote:
"If Europe does not reform then the result will not be stagnation, as we have now, but real decline in the face of global competition," Mr Frost added.
So much for the wonders this crummy EU is supposed to be doing our economy!

Quote:
The delegation's arrival in Europe comes as a survey of 400 companies found that Michael Howard was more popular among small and medium-sized companies than Tony Blair or Gordon Brown, the chancellor.Almost half the respondents to the survey, conducted by Axa, the financial services group, said the UK was not supportive of small business despite the prime minister's promise at the last Labour party conference to put it at the top of the agenda.

Asked who would be the best prime minister to champion business, 28 per cent said Mr Howard, the Conservative leader, followed by Mr Blair on 19 per cent and Mr Brown on 14 per cent.
I guess the 39% left is split down the middle between RKS and Roger Knapman
