Default Government's racist report on British salaries

http://www.guardian.co.uk/race/story...356195,00.html
Quote:
A 'black pay gap' that leaves Asian and black workers earning up to £7,000 a year less than white people will be revealed this week in a shocking report from a government task force.
The new glass ceiling in the workplace will trigger fresh debate about how some employees still pay for the colour of their skin.

The Ethnic Minorities Employment Task Force, which includes five ministers, will call for more research INTO phpbb_why black and Asian staff are not climbing the career ladder. It found that ethnic minority employees earn an average of 7 per cent less than white colleagues.

However, the difference is even more stark for some ethnic groups: while taken as a whole ethnic minority workers earn only £18,044 on average compared with £19,552 for a white employee, the average Bangladeshi salary is only £12,220 a year.
However:
Quote:
The figures are based on average wages for each ethnic group, rather than comparing salaries for those in equivalent jobs, which means part of the gap is likely to be rooted in under-achievement at school, leading to low-paid, dead-end jobs.

Indian and Chinese pupils consistently score higher at GCSEs than any other ethnic group, and the average Indian wage is - at £373 a week - almost equivalent to the £376 average white pay packet.
Once again, rather than saying that certain sections of society are underperforming due to poor education, it is made INTO phpbb_a race issue. Under-educated white people have bad salaries too!. Why aren't they complaining about that? Why is the report not concerned about underpaid white people?

I hate racist reports like this that lump people together according to race. It is an affront to decency in a truly equal society.

It quite obviously isn't a race issue anyway, or "Indians" and "Chinese" people wouldn't be doing just as well. I find this kind of drivel extremely frustrating.

Spot on Anthony, this is a racist report! Who do we write to to complain about this?

I would suggest that this report does not compare 'apples with apples':-

Many of the really high earners in the UK are (rightly) the 'captains of industry' or - for example - high ranking bankers, insurers and so on.

These people, in the main, are in their late 50's and early 60's, which means they were born in the 40's (generally).

They then entered the work place following eduction during the early 60's and worked their way up from there.

At that time there were comparatively few well-educated people from
ethnic origins in the UK, hence a large group of high earners with disproportionate level of income do not have any ethnic direct comparisons.

I totally agree with anthony.
I think that reports like this are a stunt by labour to try and make out that Britain is full to the rafters with goose stepping skin heads and the saving grace to ethnic minorities is the angelic labour Party.
Its patronising to the extreme.
