Default Labour/Nazi government campaigns on hope not fear. Honest.

Home Secretary David Blunkett has signalled that a third term Labour government would impose sweeping new anti-terror laws amid fears of an al Qaida attack on Britain.

Mr Blunkett said officials were looking at a range of measures - from jury-less anti-terror courts to allowing wiretap evidence in trials - which could be implemented if Labour was re-elected at the General Election.

He said that civil orders - similar to anti-social behaviour orders - could be imposed against individuals who had not committed an offence but were suspected of "acts preparatory to terrorism".

In an interview with ITV1's Jonathan Dimbleby programme, he said that breach of such orders would be a criminal offence which could result in imprisonment.
Remember, Labour is going to campaign on hope, not fear. All is well in the world. Peace, calm, tranquility. Oh, and we want a police state to stop the terrorists who are going to murder you in your sleep.

Seriously though, surely the imposition of "civil orders" without any crime being committed is a flagrant breach of human rights? We need a new constitution in this country very soon to make this kind of police state impossible, if it isn't already illegal.

"We'd be able to use civil (orders), like anti-social behaviour orders, to say, 'If you step outside what we've precluded you from doing, if you actually for instance, use this particular banking network, if you, for instance, use the internet and we can identify you've done it, then we can move you from the civil INTO phpbb_the criminal law', and then we can use the normal criminal justice process," he said
Yes, that is the way to stop terrorists. Don't let them have a hotmail account.

The Labour can now quite rightly be called a party from the far right. They are more extreme that any other party, when it comes to taking away civil rights.

They have the red flag as their symbol, all they need to add it a white circle and swastika!

Tony Blair faces a backlash from lawyers and civil rights campaigners over the string of anti-crime Bills and measures against international terrorism expected to dominate tomorrow's Queen's Speech.

Shami Chakrabarti, director of the human rights group Liberty, warned that the generations-old principle of innocent until proven guilty risked being eroded by the expected anti-crime legislation. The Law Society, which represents solicitors, warned that the measures could be seen as a step "in the direction of a police state".

Left-wing Labour MPs accused the Government of pursuing an American Republican-style emphasis on security and terror in the run-up to the general election, expected next spring. Crime legislation figures strongly among the 28 Bills and eight draft Bills to be outlined by the Queen as Mr Blair attempts to neutralise the opportunities for Conservative attacks in campaigning before the expected May polling day.

I often refer to blairs E.U. as the new Soviet Union.
We we never see it's leadership and its accountability is negligible.
The Mail on saturday covere this nicely with its articles on Jack Straw saying we can have a referendum in 2 Years time.
We all know why.
