Default Ridiculous drivel from Lord Haskins

see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politi...39.stm#haskins

In a marvellously flawed statement, amongst other things (which others are probably better to disect than I) Lord Haskins states:-

Quote:
The public has enjoyed more choice and better value arising out of a more competitive market - one only has to look at the range and quality of cars available from across the EU.
Hmm. Don't seem to recall Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat, Volkswagen NOT selling their products in the UK prior to the formation of the EU.

Ford and GM have also been producing vehicles in NW Europe generally for many years - this is nothing to do with the EU. (Closure of capacity in the UK recently however may be)

Nissan and Toyota are UK inward investment success stories - UK was always going to be the country with the biggest chance of NOT going INTO phpbb_the Euro, so why build their plants here? - Nothing to do with the EU, more to do with the capbility and competiteveness of the British workforce, now being strangled by red tape.

Other gems include
Quote:
Businesses thrive in a stable political environment. The EU has delivered unprecedented peace to western Europe
- Nice to know that countries in Europe would currently be at war with each other if it wasn't for the EU!

And how about
Quote:
Besides even if we did withdraw from the Fishery Agreement, where would we sell all the British fish which we now export to France and Spain?
Coo - that'll please my Cornish friends!

I've not expressed myself well, but rarely have I been so angry.

Please click on the link and read the Haskins drivel for yourselves.

I want to swear here, but I will restrain myself. Does ANYONE believe this utter rubbish? Is this the best the europhiles can come up with? Own goal as far as I'm concerned, he won't convince anyone with this drivel!
