"While we have confidence in our own culture to welcome the contribution of others, UKIP celebrates its insularity with an appeal that often sinks to crude xenophobia. While we look to a future in which nations will work together and find shared solutions to common problems, UKIP wants to take Britain back to the isolation and social attitudes of the 1950s."

Apparently it is impossible to find solutions to common problems unless your country is absorbed INTO phpbb_a European super state. Our mistake, obviously.

Davies said the Lib Dem MEPs would "count themselves as severe critics" of policies such as the common agricultural policy.

It is interesting that following the rise of UKIP, the Lib Dems have discovered that they have been critics of the EU all along. Obviously everyone who regards them as the most pro-EU group in Britain got it wrong. Our mistake, again.
