    I agree;
Time the majority of non-Cowards were liberated from rule by the criminal, there are three types of Briton:
The rulers, the ruled & the outlaws!

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. I’d rather carry a gun and not need it, then to need it and not have it.

Do any of you liberals realize why the 2nd amendment of the U S Constitution follows the 1st? (A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to bear Arms, shall not infringed) The first amendment lays down our basic God given rights and the 2nd amendment gives us a way to protect those rights when governments decide they want to take them away.

To get a grasp on why our founding fathers wrote the 2nd amendment, please read and understand the Declaration of Independence. You will be stunned at how brutal the Crown was to the colonies.

If bad people want to commit crimes, they will do it regardless of what the law states. This includes gun related crimes. Look at the statistics for the states that allow either open carry or concealed weapons permits. You will find that the crime rates are lower in states allowing the carrying of guns. Bad guys don’t know whose carrying and whose not. Rather than take the chance of being smoked by the law abiding citizen standing behind you in the supermarket, bad guys go elsewhere.

Do you think I like the idea of having to carry a gun? Of course not. However, I live in the real world without blinders on, watching the news everyday and seeing that the liberal system of so called justice does not work. As long as there are criminals who wish to pray
on the rest of us, then I will own and carry a gun.

Do you know what a Conservative is? A liberal whose been robbed at gun point!

And to youcanthandlethetruth, thanks for the message.

Not according to the figures I have seen.

Overall homicide rate per 100,000 population.

    UK ..................... 1.57
    USA ................... 7.52

Firearm homicide rate per 100,000 population.

    UK ..................... 0.12
    USA ................... 2.97

Gun violence - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The per capita homicide rate in the USA is roughly five times that of Great Britain, but the per capita gun homicide rate is roughly twenty nine times that of the UK.

Yeah, and inflation is 2% and everything is fine and dandy.
There's a reason the UK hasn't released any proper figures since 2002.

We can have Gun Rights but lets be clear as with anything if you have a right you have a responsibility which tends to get forgotten in the debate.

So with RIGHTS come RESPONSIBILITIES please feel free to let your democratically elected representative know this

Does anyone have figures about the USA which can be broken down into the states which have more restrictive laws and crime and those which are free er and crime it may perhaps give a better comparison rather then comparing the UK and the USA

As a point doesn't Switzerland allow guns quite liberally as it has a militia thingy ? what's the crime like there in comparison

So, if you reject the statistics I have provided, feel free to come up with statistics showing that the overall murder rate per capita is the same in the UK as it is in the USA (as you claim.) Assuming they do not come from a blog, I will not be so ill-mannered as to reject your stats.

Here you liberals go again, totally off subject. I was not talking about the murder rate as compared to the UK.

Murderers are the criminals, get it? Law abiding citizens don't commit murder. It's the law abiding citizens that have the right to bear arms, not the criminals. Criminals will do whatever is in their best interest, as they see it, to murder, rape, steal or whatever. It is the law abiding amongst us that have the need to defend ourselves. And, of course, owning a deadly weapon does come with responsablity, that's obvious!

Criminals risk their own lives under all conditions,
The government's anti-Gun & Knife agenda just risks ours.

Incidentally, the higest murder rates in the US are in Illinois, D.C, California & New York --All anti-Gun States

Innocent children are being killed because of the gang culture on our streets. Should they be taught that they need to carry a weapon to protect themselves?
