Is this another step towards tracking and surveillance but across EU borders ?

Where's the problem? If a man breaks the law in one EU state then why should he be imune from prosecution simply because he lives and normally resides in another?

So what makes traffic crime any different from any other form of crime?

As for tracking and surveillance but across EU borders, why on earth not? If it solves crime, especially terrorism and major crime then bring it on and soon.

Coming from the someone that apparently hates the government.......

Have you voluntarily handed your DNA into the police or home office yet ?

If not why not ?
If you've got nothing to hide you could be helping the police eliminate another person from their enquiries.......

I suppose you're in favour of CCTV cameras and ID cards too no doubt ?

Though of course they don't reduce crime and cost a fortune to implement.

(Of course I realize you hate money being wasted....)

No, because the call for such action has not been made, but if it was then I would.

Exactly.

ID cards yes, We now desperatly need a national ID database with the means to relate individuals to it if by ID card, finger print, iris scan, but some means of typoing the person to his database file.

CCTV? Where appropriate, yes.

That’s a matter of how and where they are being used. We now especially need a national, and preferably EU wide, database containing the identity and records of citizens as a result of changes taking place globally.

The authorities now need to be able to establish who is where, when, and where they have been for the simple reason that we are now in a war with an ideology that is threatening our very western freedoms and life.

We must have appropriate weapons to use against it, and intelligence of who is where, when, and with whom is key then sad to say the powerful weapon that an ID database provides is now a “must have”.

A lot of it is civil and not criminal parking for example

So what? If a law is broken than a law is broken.

If a French driver parks illegally in Dover why should he get away with it simply because he lives in Calais?

Bear you're either completely brainwashed or a total fascist scumbag - I'm not sure which but I guess the latter.....

Your statement

"The authorities now need to be able to establish who is where, when, and where they have been for the simple reason that we are now in a war with an ideology that is threatening our very western freedoms and life."

We are not at war - no-one had declared war on us except the government.

Even if it were true, your argument which is basically "Give us your liberty for freedom" is straight out of the fascist handbook and it shows your true colours.....

Yes because we are under attack then WE are the suspects ?

It's not only ridiculous but sick and fascist too.

Shame on you.

You may think you will get away scot free from all this, but you were will be dealt with the most severely if the totalitarian state survives.... No doubt.

Just remember that !
