Prior to the introduction of all the gun laws - following the Hungeford Massacre and Dunblane Massacre - more people were killed on the roads than they were by guns, yet the Government did not ban folk from owning cars or insisted that they keep their cars locked up in car parks and only drive their cars in car parks, in the same way as they banned folk from owning guns and/or insisted that gun-onwers keep their guns locked up in gun clubs and can only use them in those clubs.

The real reason, of course, for banning private ownership of firearms was not so much to prevent mad men from shooting anyone and everyone - as psychopaths will always get hold of what they need to satisfy their lusts - but to take away an individual's right to defend himself against the forces of the state when all his other rights and liberties - other than his right to life - have been taken from him.
