The Government is hooked on smoking - it is a bigger smoking addict than any individual in the country. Smokers (through tax on cigarettes and other tobacco) are paying for the running of the NHS.

Expect Brown's puppet Chancellor Darling to slap more tax on cigarettes and other items to cover a loss of tax revenue from the half-empty pubs. If Labour can't get more tax from the smokers in the pubs, they'll try and get it from them when they purchase their cigarettes from the shop.

If I were a smoker I would raise two fingers (between which, would be a cigarette) and ask them "where were you when they came for me"
