Well more than one would certainly have to be that, but as "turning point", after 3 crises you would be back where you started. Several "annus horribilus" would be not be crises, (because time cannot turn back), but just one long crisis, unless you are critically short of time, which may extend the crises into criser and then crisest. That would be horriblest.

Default The Royal Family and fags

I think this Mirror story is suspect. Both the Queen's father (KGVI) and grandfather (KGV) died of smoking related diseases. So you would have thought that an iota of commonsense would have made the Windsors anti-smoking. Stiill, nobody has accused them of being very bright, so maybe they have not taken the point.

What a load of rubbish. Just because you don't smoke or like smoking it doesn't make you anti-smoking. My liberty is far more important than my lungs, but thanks for your do-gooder concern.

I wonder when one day (let us hope many decades hence) when you might be fighting for your breath that you live, you will feel at that precise moment that your liberty is more important than your lungs. I have had to fight to breathe and live, and in my case politics was not at the time the foremost of my thoughts!

I think for some people, at certain times, "liberty" may indeed be given a higher priority than life. But it is a surprising assertion that you think the liberty to smoke might be more important than life. Still, if those are your personal values, so be it.

...I don't smoke and don't ever intend to, why would I be fighting for my breath?

Anyway, give me liberty or give me death, I can agree wholly with that statement.

I don't smoke, and I disagree fundamentally with this ban.

Passive smoking gives one liberty and death. But what about the poor dragon at St. George's Chapel? Why don't Animal Rights stick his lance into George for his lizard-abuse?

There is no link between passive smoking and disease.

Tito,
Why say there is no link?
PDF] 03 Passive smokingFile Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - View as HTML
A summary of the literature concludes that passive smoking causes the following ... Passive smoking increases the risk of coronary heart disease in ...
www.quit.org.au/downloads/BB/03Pasve.pdf - Similar pages .(end quote).
They must have been worried, or they wouldn't have medals of St. George eextinguishing the smoking dragon. Not to mention the Greeks zapping her daughter , the fire-blowing Chimera, grand-daughter of Brettanos of Gaul. Greeks even flung the dragons into Mount Etna volcano-ash tray. That's a serious health warning, but very anti-British EU bullying.
