OK. I get my fingerprints taken.
So what?
What (legal) activity will it prevent me from undertaking?
The right to not be treated as a suspected criminal upon entry. The right to leave the airport in a timely fashion. The right to have knowledge/influence over what the US does with certain personal information now or in the future. I'm sure there is plenty more that I have temporarily overlooked.
You're at it again with your woolly irrelevant answers.
Not what rights will I or won't I have. What legal ACTIVITY will it actually prevent me from undertaking?
Just give a direct answer to the question I asked - not the one you think I asked.

Understand also that I am neither stating nor implying that I agree or otherwise with having my fingerprints taken. Don't read into the question something that isn't there.
Why then, did you ask the question in the first place? The words "So What?" implied to me a view about having your fingerprints taken. What legal activity do you think it will prevent you from undertaking?

I don't anticipate that it will prevent me from undertaking any legal activity.
Regardless of my views about having my fingerprints taken.

Sure. I could get laryngitis. I can still send emails and post on this board.

Can you imagine one of Uncle Sam's finest reading through the average Brit's emails? That's the surest way to start WW3!

Default Fingerprinting

You could unknowingly leave your prints at a crime scene, while the perpetrator took care not to. They would be matched with the database and you could then be deemed guilty until you proved yourself innocent. Do you think the police really want to a) secure a conviction and close the case or b) leave the case unsolved? OK a bit extreme I agree but do you really want to take that risk? And why should you?
