Because I really, really don't like the bloke.
See FC's explanation of Tatchell's church based activities for examples.

This is the kind of bloke who's a constant campaigner. When he gets what he wants, he'll set a new target and campaign for that. And so on and so on. He won't be happy until everyone in the country is openly having gay sex in the middle of the street (and even then he'll just find something else to shout about).

If Tatchell is so gay rights and anti religion then why does he not disrupt a Friday service at a Mosque. Some Muslims have been known occasionally to say a few things about trouser bandit.... sorry, gay people! I wonder what would happen if he manhandled an imam!
One can on guess what would happen to him!

He'd probably be crucified if only they could find a cross left standing to do it on!

Gareth.

And here is the story, as the horse saw it.

***********************

'A student at Balliol College was arrested and detained in custody for a night after he verbally abused a police horse early on Monday morning. Sam Brown, a third year English student, had his fingerprints taken and was released with a fine of £80 following the incident which took place on Cornmarket Street. Brown was fined for "causing harassment, harm or distress", after he repeatedly called the officer’s horse "gay". Brown and his friends, including former Balliol JCR President Daniel Konrad-Cooper had emerged from the Cellar Bar and were surprised to encounter two mounted policemen. Brown inquired, "How do you feel about your horse being gay?" of one of the policemen, stating that his colleague’s was clearly not gay.

'After repeated comments on the sexuality of his horse, and despite warnings from the policeman about his behaviour, Brown’s offer of an apology to the horse was rejected and he was handcuffed and taken by the officers to the police station...A spokesman for Thames Valley Police confirmed Brown’s arrest and detention, and stated that the point of the action taken by police "shows that we will not tolerate drunken behaviour which causes alarm or distress"...The spokesman also said that the “homophobic comments” were not only offensive to the policeman and his horse [my emphasis], but any members of the general public in the area.'

The incident had the opposite effect on me. Previously I always thought of Tatchell as simply an irritating attention-seeker, but the tv footage of him repeatedly trying to arrest Mugabe despite being beaten up by Mugabe's goons showed him to also be extremely brave.

Talking of useless police, it is worth mentioning that the Belgian police stood by wringing their hands while Mugabe's men assaulted journalists and peaceful protestors.

I must admit im torn, i despise the gay whingers tons, as i am discussing on another thread, but equally, he sounds a brave brave man. On balance, id admire him greatly for a day then go back to grumbling the next time he tries to have a teacher in a frilly frock! heh.

Regards,
Gareth.
