A rather ignorant comparison. Suggesting someone's feelings about murder depends on the colour of their skin might indicate you are sympathetic to Hitler's Final Solution.
A rather ignorant reply to my post. Are you suggesting there would have been the same reaction to the Lawrence murder if the assailants had been black or the victim white?

My reaction to the murder would have been exactly the same.
But I doubt my reaction to the investigation would have been the same, because it is unlikely it it would have been carried out in such a slipshod and biased manner.
However, had the murderers been Black, the majority of the Police also Black, and the investigation undertaken in the same unprofessional way, I am confident my reaction would be as it is now.
Where is the media hype and campaign for Justice? Non existent. Is it because it is not fashionable to defend an innocent officer of the law.

I didn't ask you about your reaction. I asked you about the general reaction.Had the victim been white and the assailants black,not one single word would have been said about racism and you know it.

After a quarter of a century, the case remains open. The last public call for additional witnesses was in 2010. Perhaps advances in forensic science will result in a conviction. The example of the long-running Lawrence murder investigation gives hope here. It seems even people tried for the murder already could be re-arrested if there is compelling new evidence.
A problem is the original investigation was flawed and procedures were not followed. Tests on evidence statements showed them to have been altered. Police were tried for perjury, perverting the course of justice and conspiracy. Individual officers were acquitted. But the evidence of Police malpractice remains.
Unfortunately, lack of sympathy for the Police among particular Tottenham residents (caused by too many fit-ups, deaths in custody and during arrest, and occasionally inept local Police management) is a difficulty in getting new witnesses to come forward.
