Bookseller Ahmed Faraz jailed over terror offences
A bookseller from Birmingham has been sentenced to three years in prison for possessing and distributing material which promoted extremism.
Ahmed Faraz had material including an al-Qaeda training manual, bomb-making instructions, and footage of murders - Briton Ken Bigley's among them.

So a terrorist sympathiser sells books on how to make bombs, carry out acts of terrorism and kill people and gets three years inside.
A little while ago two British white youths put silly prank postings about starting a riot on Facebook and got four years.
Good advice for Muslim terrorists. Don't get caught mentioning a riot, publish instructions on how to make bombs and kill people instead and you get a lighter sentence.
This is England and .....
i don't think he should be sentenced like that , but it is not the reason to doubt too much about the other people ,like Muslim, but it justice should be to everyone !A little while ago two British white youths put silly prank postings about starting a riot on Facebook and got

If the bookseller was inciting violence then fair enough, but I'm not comfortable with the idea of jailing someone for possessing and distributing information which is already available to anyone who cares to look for it. It smacks of Thought Crime and is hardly likely to deter a serious extremist.

I think therefore I am a nuisance.
Quoting from your link, 'Faraz was found guilty of possessing and disseminating some of the most well-known publications found in the homes of people convicted of terrorism-related offences over the past decade.' so jailing him isn't likely to prevent the publications being in the hands of extremists. Beheading videos are commonplace amongst certain webistes and any Standard Grade Chemistry student ought to be able to make a bomb if they felt inclined.
It just strikes me as a dangerous road to tread when the State can decide what information should be freely available and what information can earn a jail sentence. If he is truly dangerous, what will 18 months in jail achieve, apart from sending out the message that the State can come down on those who dissent? We're told that prisons are one of the main places where people are turned into extremists.

Yes it does smack of a thought crime like Emma West and the muslim girl jailed for making anti-British armed forces poety, I'm not a big fan of Islam but our laws should be fair to all. How many times now has a thought crime caused a total overreaction by the state.
I studied chemistry and sciences, making bombs is easy, you can make a bomb from practically any organic material.
