How many British MP's do you think £4.7 billion would pay for?

That is quite some saving if we leave.
Not on my Nelly are we leaving. We are here to stay. There is too much riding on it to leave now.

You'd better get used to it. All the struggling just makes the pain worse.

I'm suprised you didn't know this.
Following this logic to the next level, why not phase out both Westminster and the EU, establish a 'World Parliament' run by the UN and instead elect a single British representative to this every 5 years? Of course, countries like China and India would be entitled to more 'MWPs' on account of their greater populations, but it is only 'democratic' that they should dictate internal policy in this country. And just think how much money could be saved by reducing the number of politicians in the country to 1.
I think you should abandon your support for the EU, which is clearly passé, and campaign for this instead.

Take it you've never been to Wales, then? I've heard people speaking Welsh to each other in Rhayader, for example.

Duh, you sound confused. I said language is one of the criteria for nationhood - I didn't say it was the only thing.

But using your argument, you must agree England should be an independent country, as that's where English originates.
