The English Democrats have 3 district councillors, 2 in Boston and 1 in Peterborough.

I'm afraid the table in the first posting is gradually diverging from reality due to the accumulation of small mistakes. Sadly I don't have time to sort it out. Therefore I shall respond to the recent local council elections by just making the following changes to the district councillor totals:

Green Party +14 (as per BBC)
UKIP +1 (BBC said +0 but they failed to take account of a UKIP gain in Wycombe)
ED change total to 3 district councillors as per Anglo-Staffs posting above
    BNP -11 (as per BBC)
Liberal Party -2 (as per BBC)
    Respect -2 (as per BBC)

The BBC's English council results table is here:

A good result for the Green Party. Not a great result for any of the other smaller parties, and a dismal result for the BNP who lost more than half of their sitting councillors. UKIP have the slight consolation of now having more district councillors than the BNP, for the first time in many years.

I have a faint suspicion that the Socialist Alternative lost most of its 4 councillors in an earlier round of local elections and that I never updated the table. Haven't been able to check that.

I've found the answer now, on Wikipedia.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_Alternative_(UK)

It lost three of its four councillors in the 2010 local elections and just has a single one left, in Coventry.

Dave Nellist faces a real fight to hold that seat next year. Any other Soc Alt candidate would certainly lose it but Nellist's personal vote might just allow him to hold on.

Great - well done and thanks! At least the UKIP figure on that table now has some kind of evidence behind it.

Tensions between the Conservatives and the Lib Dems are getting worse. Check out this funny parody of how Wimbledon tennis is in danger of tearing the government apart!!!

I've updated the table at the start of the thread to show Respect as having one MP as a result of George Galloway's recent by-election win.

The table is now very hard to read - at least on my browser - apparently as a result of a change in the way the forum displays tables. I'm not sure how to fix that. If I could fix it, then I would have quite a bit of updating to do now, to include the various defections to UKIP from the Conservative Party and Labour Party during March.
