For those that live outside Britain and can't show their concern about the potentially devastating impact that Welfare Benefit Reform will have on British people with disabilities by signing any of the currently circulating e-petitions - let's get this one circulating among international supporters. There's not a lot we can do as people who aren't citizens of Britain, but we can let the British government know that we're watching, that we don't like what's happening, and that we aren't going to forget the outcome of their actions regarding Welfare Benefit Reform. Maybe it will help.
Petition.
We the undersigned, as members of the international community, wish to express our concern about Welfare Benefit Reform in Britain, and to stand in solidarity with those who are fighting to stop its potentially devastating effects on British citizens with disabilities. The British government should be aware that the world is watching, and won't soon forgot the outcome of its actions on this issue.
Thank you for your time.

Those "minor benefit reforms " will see thousands made homeless and sick and disabled people not getting the help a civilised society should be giving them. I should get a job at the DWP if I were you.
You can help send out the letters advising people with six months to live to look for a job.
This is England and .....
Unless you are connected to all the relevant people and networks outside the control of the media then you will be watching whatever the media puts in the
top spot for increased coverage. So it comes as no surprise that people are more aware of what is going on in Syria as there is a lot of noise and media coverage about it. If you intend to do something that a lot of people will be against (if they haven't been swayed by the Government propaganda circulated by the television and newspaper media) then it is in your best interest to implement measures that play down those things while increasing focus on other events that are going on that have the potential to distract the viewing population.
News coverage of war, dramatic footage of excited reporters in a warzone metres away from an explosion is very very good viewing and very riveting to watch.
Everything that doesn't directly impact on your particularly in a negative way can be brushed aside and labelled as "unimportant" or "minor" but when your life changes so do the label(s) and the way that you view that particular thing or experience. It can be so easy in a position of comfort, security and good-health to agree and go along with things.
I hope you are lucky and your life doesn't take a turn for the worse.
Life is much more enjoyable when you can remember everything that you need to remember, walk as far as you want without your body aching and tiring, eat as much as your body needs without regurgitating, being free of the worry that you could break the heart of someone close to you if the worse does happen and they come in to find out why you haven't left your bedroom yet.

Thanks. Anyone living on benefits in the UK should thank themselves very very lucky not to be in Syria. They really do have real problems there.
13 years of Labour has definitely fueled the dependency culture in the UK together with a whole industry of professional hand wringers all bemoaning the fact that we are returning to Victorian England....
The world is watching? Let's just try to keep a sense of perspective, please.

Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain
Anyone should count themselves very, very lucky not to have suffered illness, disability or unemployment anywhere should be grateful. But that doesn't mean that those who have should be reduced to the lowest common denominator.
It's amazing how you people never seem to think how much more you have than a starving African, only how much more a benefit claimant gets than a starving African.
Perhaps your income should be reduced to that of the lowest paid worker. Then you'd be equal too.

A hope bound to be disappointed.
If you travel around the world like I do, you would know that UK issues get barely a mention on foreign news channels. The idea that the "world" would even be aware of changes to the UK's welfare benefits, indicates a grossly distorted view of what concerns people in other countries.
Meanwhile in Syria, the world IS watching, because it is something of world importance.
Talks at Launch of Manifesto.
Baroness Hollins, Kaliya Franklin of Broken of Britain and Simon Duffy all spoke at the launch of the Campaign for a Fair Society's Manifesto on the 12th March at the House of Lords.
