Default Breast Implants who should pay for the replacements ?

PIP breast implants have now been banned by the European Union. These PIP breast implants are substandard and need to be replaced because they are a danger to the health of the women who bought them.

Who should pay the cost ?

100 million pounds for Britian, and probably a billion pounds world wide.

The substandard PIP breast implant manufacturer has shut down, and the owner has been arrested. So its no good taking legal action against the manufacturer as they have gone out of business.

The Brithish government approved PIP breast implants for use in Britain because they carried the European Union CE quality mark. It is against EU law to refuse to import manufactured goods that carry the CE quality mark of the European Union.

The European Union gave the substandard PIP breast implants the CE quality mark. The CE quality mark allows that product to be sold everywhere around the EU Single Market without further quality checks.
In fact it is illegal to hold up imports of goods carrying the CE quality mark, on the grounds that further quality checks are required.

The quality of the PIP breast implants was checked regularly by EU inspectors regarding the CE quality mark. But the inspectors were tricked by the manufacturers. Instead of top quality medical materials, the manufacturer was using cheap industrial quality alternatives. The manufacturers managed to totally mislead the EU inspectors, who were trying to verify that the quality of the breast implant was worthy of the CE quality mark.

The LibLabCon, that is to say British governments, all seem to support EU legislation, protocols and other EU machinery. The British government has culpability in this medical disaster, and that culpability devolves onto the people who vote for the LibLabCon. We the British electorate should pay to rescue these unfortunate women from their plight, and it serves us right to have to do so.

In any case, if these women are considered responsible for their own condition, and therefore should be denied NHS treatment, then that attitude raises the question what about heavy drinkers, fat people, smokers, drug takers and those who do not take care when crossing the road. A policy of withholding treatment from those who are deemed responsible for their own condition would ultimately lead to all our lives being controlled by medical opinion.

The women who have been duped into buying faulty implants should be given NHS treatment without further prevarication, and the society which has an obsession with large breasts, (us), should pay the cost.

    I can go with that.

People should be made resposible for their own choices / actions.

As far as I'm concerned, if a driver decides not to wear a seat-belt, and then recieves far mor serious injuries because of their own stupidity, let them pay for their own treatment.
If a smoker contracts cancer, lung desese etc due to their own choices, make them pay for their own treatment. (and don't give Me the usual bolox about smokers put more into the healh service than they take out 'cos it's shyte).

These substandard breast implants carried the European Union CE mark for quality.

On the strength of the European Union CE mark these substandard breast implants were sold to 400,000 women, in 65 different countries.

This is a very big expensive problem worldwide.
