Unfortunately this forum disagrees with democracy, thus it is against forum rules to post links to the BNP website. I recommend taking this down immediately. Oh, and welcome to the forum!

I think Joel has got a little confused (too much wisdom, I expect); he means this forum practices censorship, and rightly so.

    Welcome to the forum.

Yep, shock horror this forum has rules. One of the rules is: no links to the BNP website. As you are a newbie, I haven't banned you for it. If you are happy to post within forum rules, then welcome to the forum.

the direct link didnt work when i tried it anyway - it had unknown file type. People must learn to post valid download links as well as from the "correct" websites themselves!

But I presume these links are totally fine?

    Home - The Labour Party
    The Conservative Party
The Liberal Democrats - Official Website
    UK Independence Party
Green Party | Thank You - One Million Green Voters

    Am I right?
It was the leadership who took the website down, not Simon - Visit YourBNP for the proof.

    I believe so.

Your point being what? You're angry that someone who owns this forum and decides to run it for no profit sees fit that s/he does not wish for people to promote the opinions of such a party?! If so, I reckon you should **** off and create your own forum, then you can be independent and you and five other BNP supporters can live in your own little bubble by yourselves with no intellectual conversations to speak off ('scuse the pun).

If people have a problem with the rules complain to Anthony Butcher, we have seen enough moaning about it.

To answer Owen's question, "the point being" that it seems rather to go against the spirit of free speech, democracy and fair play to ban links to one party's site while allowing links to the others. I think that might be what's getting people's goats. Understandable? Would you not feel a little put out if you were barred from linking to your party's site, but everyone else could link to theirs?

I suppose the counter-argument is: "But the BNP's not like the other parties. They're not a normal party. They're racists; so they shouldn't be treated like the other parties." This is the same argument used by the UAF thugs who physically attacked Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons when they tried to give a press conference after the Euro Elections. Essentially, their argument is: "We disagree with this party's policies; so we've decided, unilaterally, to use violence to deny them their right to free speech and to deny those who voted for them, or might want to hear what they've got to say, the right to hear them." It's totally un-democratic.

I feel that only legitimate reason for taking special, extra measures, action outwith normal political discourse, against a party, is if it has to be proscribed for inciting murder or similar. And this action should be taken by the proper authorities. I feel that if the electoral authorities allow this party to fight elections, the Government allows it to exist as a legal party, and the BBC allows links to this party's website (which it does), then everyone else should confine their objections to it to normal, civilised political discourse, rather than unilaterally changing the rules of the game just because they dislike this party's policies.

    Just throwing it out there.
