I am currently a student at UCLan studying Politics, in my third & final year! I am currently working on my dissertation focusing on the electoral system in Britain and whether there is need for reform. I am looking at the 2011 Referendum as a case study, and as I am looking to collect statistics and data.. I was wondering if you could all help me out by filling in my online self-completion survey!
Electoral Reform in Britain Survey
It's extremely simple, straight forward and quick! 10 quick questions so will only take 2 minutes out of your time & will benefit me hugely.
Thank you ever so much,
Krystina
"8. In your opinion, would you say there is sufficient education on politics and political issues in schools, colleges and universities?"
There's far too much. Our education system is infiltrated with Frankfurt school cultural Marxists who should all be lined up against the wall and shot.
"10. Do you believe there is serious need for reform in Britain's electoral system?"
Not with AV it doesn't which would only benefit the Left of centre parties. Which is why the only three places that voted for it were, the Guardianistas of Islington and the Marxists of Oxford and Cambridge.
Now, my turn for a question. As you're studying PPE, where would you put yourself on the political spectrum? Somewhere to the left of Marx?
No problem, I have completed one for you. Welcome to the forum

Done but the British public have already decided there is no need to reform using a survey that will probably have a much greater sample size than yours. Good luck with it anyway.
This survey seems quite flawed in that it concentrates on AV, as though it's the only path to electoral reform. The AV referendum is a perfect example of the flawed, so called, 'democracy' in the UK. The AV referendum was an issue on which the political establishment decided to allow the plebs to express an opinion. The peasants, AKA the electorate, have no power to force a referendum in the UK.
The survey raises the question, 'Who surveys surveyors?'.

Not; Little Englander (sour) or LittleEnglander
The answer to this is, that the OP is doing a PPE degree, which generally means that they are either a Marxist or have been indoctrinated by Marxist educators.
AV, is heavily biased to Left wing parties, so this would appeal to Marxist Frankfurt school participants. Where as PR helps parties that are right of centre, which is why UKIP won as many MEP seats in the last Euro election as NuLabour did, in fact they got more votes, but the same amount of MEPs.
Which is why Lefties aren't interested in PR, only AV.
You have a negative view of young people Road Hog! My kids are at various latter stages of the school system and have been subjected to frequent attempted brainwashing mainly during that traditional home of the left winger, Geography, and the utterly pointless PSHE. They have been told continually how they mustn't be racist, not that it ever occurred to them that they should be, and now treat this entire politicised element of teaching as a joke, without any prompting from me I might add.
Somehow I doubt there are many kids that are successfully brainwashed in this way, if only teachers were so effective... Socialism, Marxism and communism appeal to the young simply because they are less world weary and actually believe these ideologies might work though teachers tend to nurture and encourage those beliefs. Only later do they discover the wealth of evidence that says otherwise.
Good luck with your survey and your degree.
As it happens, there are a number of problems I see with our parliamentary system.
Far too many MPs.
Too few free votes. Individual MPs have to toe the party line whether or not they actually agree with it.
No compulsion to turn up at Westminster Palace when the house sits unless ordered to do so by the whips for crucial votes.
No need for MPs to have any qualifications to do the job.
And anyone can vote them into office.
It seems to result in a motley crew with little expertise to do the job and even less effective power to do it.
Their chief skill seems to be fiddling expense claims.
So, yes I think it needs reform
Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes.
I've completed your survey, as you say: quick! Good luck!
