People will want and get it's politicians to once again be servants of the people and not their Masters!
You're probably right. But if Cameron's choice collection of mincing schoolboy scum are ever elected (100% due to Labour's incompetence) their 'popularity' such as it is, will last five minutes.

The Tory Party has been on its last legs for years and momentary success will achieve nothing for it. Meanwhile its membership continues to plummet.

kernow - After canvassing for the last few weeks for our UKIP local election candidates, I have lost coiunt of the number of people who have said " Not interested in politics - go away", "What election?"," You're UK who?" "Are the BNP standing? No? Then I'm not voting"
It appears to me that if the electorate cannot be bothered to vote on local issues which directly affect them, (roads, libraries, graffiti, street gangs, etc, etc) then there is little hope of the same people being interested in happenings hundreds of miles away in Brussels.
I don't think the average Joe / Joy gives a toss where the country is run from.
So sadly, I must agree with your suggestion of item (a)
