I thought Cornish nationalists wanted to be in the EU? If so then the Queen signing us into it serves the Cornish nationalists dream. How else will Cornwall survive without the EU?

Infact it's Cornish nationalists that are part of the problem, as they want to break the UK up more so than others. The EDP only want devolved power in the UK unlike The Free England Party and the SNP who want full independence. I believe Wales still wants to be in the UK but with better devolved powers.

What does Cornwall want?

I think this petition is well worthwhile - the Queen is not going to do anything, but it could bring publicity if it really catches on so there are big numbers. Also, in practical terms it is very easy for people to sign up to and pass on.

The only way the media will latch onto it will be if there's an armed revolt outside the gates of Buckingham Palace.....
Even then it is debabtable....

Sorry to be negative, but I think you're being a little naive...

What's my solution ? I don't have one - well not related to the EU anyway. You've got to understand the origins of where every institution came from and work your way up from there.....

Long live a constitutional republic of England !

After witnessing years of anti-Englishness I would like England to be independent, so I should of worded that as them being part of the problem as they want to break England as well as the UK.

I wouldn't blame them for wanting to break it up - it seems a better alternative to a federal bureaucracy that serves Brussels, or even our own parliamentary system which serves Brussels.

The essense of Englishness is a variety of different cultures within England - I don't see much wrong with wanting to protect theirs.....

Cornish nationals are demanding road signs in Cornish and want Cornish taught in schools even though the last true Cornish speaker died 200 years ago. Today's Cornish is a language that the Cornish elite, most born a long way north of the Tamar have designed! My Great, Great, Grandfather was a Cornish Tin Miner from a long line of Tin miners and apparently he couldn't speak Cornish and he was born in 1822

Default Fergus Mason

The originator of this petition is a Scot, Mr Fergus Mason. I spoke to him yesterday.

He claims to be a [SNIPPED - by request].

There is quite a bit about him on the Net.

Here's his blog/website:
