Comrade Brown isn`t going to give us a say on this treaty however many of us demand one through the newspapers etc .Milliband is sticking to the line that Parliament is the "cockpit " of democracy -cesspit more like .
Ironically it may be the Germans who save us ,they can`t ratify until their courts state that the Lisbon treaty conforms with their constitutional law .Frankly I don`t see how it can do this as the German Const.has to be superior to the EU Constitution and as the LT turns the EU into a state whose laws /const are supreme there should be a problem. Hayho ,this is all such a bore waiting for others to mess things up when we should be in a position to do it ourselves . |

Petrina: Am I not right in saying, for reasons appertaining to the German constitution which you have already given, Germany is not a member- only a presumed member- of the European Union?
The House of Commons, and the HoL, scuttled the Cash Amendment to the L.T, which would have made our laws supreme in any future dispute. What a pathetic bunch of politicians we have these days! |

Geoffrey ,you could be right .It hasn`t been tested yet but it may be that the German Supreme Court will state that the EU edicts only bind Germany if the Germans wish it and the constitution does not forbid it.Our 72 Act clearly states that EU law becomes ours "without further enactment "( if neccessary ) but I bet it can`t be so in the Fatherland .

Petrina: When virtually all our major political parties, failed to support the Cash Amendment, that provided the necessary proof that they are in the business of dismantling the nation state. What other objective could they have in mind? The Cash amendment was a premium-free insurance policy for the future; only the mad or malevolent would have opposed it. Should Britain be saved, it will be saved despite herself.
