Just what would we do without your closely argued, penetrating insights?

I do wish you'd either keep them to yourself or take them elsewhere! There's really no need to keep making a fool of yourself!

If any of the small parties are going to get seats in London it will be the Greens, BNP and Respect. I say this on the basis that they have multiple councillors in London where as I dont think UKIP or ED's have any councillors in London. Them parties therefore have people the public know in their respective areas, the ED's are probably getting their hopes up for the Bushell factor. Thats if Bushell actually stands after reports I have heard that he will not be standing now.

Now this is a reasonable opinion supported by rational argument.

On this basis one might re-cast this opinion as saying that the Greens, BNP and Respect are more likely to gain seats in the GLA than the EDP and UKIP but, even so, admitting that either or both the EDP and UKIP may also win seats.

Time will tell! In a democracy which hopefully is much better than many other places (eg Kenya and Zimbabwe), there is still all to play for!

Mostly I agree with this. However, Gary Bushell will get a better vote in the Mayoral election than individual EDP candidates will.

If he stands that is, also he is not getting any publicity at the moment and that is rather bad considering the elections are 4 months away. Richard Barnbrook has played a blinder by announcing his wedding with the ballerina ensuring publicity very early in the campaign for himself.

Also he has got a fairly decent London web site running which says they have been distributing 20,000 leaflets on weekends. I think if EDP are just relying on the personality recognition of Bushell they will have a very big shock indeed.

Thats a fair point that many will not be fully aware who he is, however he is recieving much publicity both locally and nationally at the moment. As you can read on London BNP website they are distributiong 20,000 leaflets at weekends. What the the EDP doing? that is my point, BNP are not relying on a name to bring them support they are putting in the work.

Also if the Lib Dems do get 7% then its very possible that a smaller party if they put the time and effort in to the GLA campaign could knock the Lib Dems into 4th place which would be a great victory over the 3rd largest party in the UK.
