    Default A Useful section

This could be a useful section to the forum.

There is only one way that a breakthrough will be made and that is if we abandon our own prejudices, our own loyalties and try to put aside our differences and concentrate only on the core values we all agree on.

UKIP, VERITAS, NEW PARTY, ENGLISH DEMOCRATS, POPULAR ALLIANCE etc etc, the ballot papers in the next general election will be long ones for sure, but what will all of these parties achieve ? nothing.

The 3 main parties all have unwanted leaders, they are in disarray, they are split within their ranks, they have all run out of steam and are, I truly believe, out of touch with the vast majority of the electorate.

Never before has British politics been ripe for change, this is an opportunity that must be grasped and grasped quickly. Time is short.

What I would like to see is the leaders of all of these parties to contact one another and organise a national conference for those of us who want a real alternative to vote for in the next general election. we must go into that election with one voice.

Lets concentrate on the areas we agree on, on policies to tackle the issues that people care about when they go to the polls, Crime, Health, Pensions, transport, etc etc, all of these parties have good policies, and good ideas. We now need to bring them together under one banner, our strength is only useful if it is united strength.

Yes the EU is an important issue and close to all of our hearts, but we must not let a single minded approach on the issue make us an unelectable force. We need good, properly researched policies on all issues of government.

I am no longer a member of any political party and I will never join another one until, the people who lead and run these parties put aside their own personal ambitions and ego's and start working for the supporters, the party members, the British people and our nation's interests.

do those of you who support UKIP honestly believe that they will make a breakthrough alone ?

If not then all your efforts and hard work is wasted.

It is simply no good having a few protest MEP's, it achieves nothing. What is needed is bums on seats in Westminster.

    UKIP cannot achieve that alone.

The support is there, the activista are there, problem is we are distributed amongst numerous minnow party's. The 3 main party's love that, they don't want to see us get our act together, it suits them.

When is somebody going to have the will and the guts to bring us all together ?

To be fair to UKIP, it has started picking up in the polls a bit of late.

Almost definitely down to the fact that immigration COMBINED with the EU being mentioned/blamed.

Add a bit of Cameron turning to Blue Labour and the usual sick of the incumbant and joke of a Lib Dem party.

But the question above still remains, can UKIP actually acheive much more and in a quick enough time all on their own?

Answer from me, is probably not. There are two huge hurdles I see in front of UKIP, with no real answers being suggest to combat them. These hurdles will stop UKIP dead, if not addressed and addressed soon.

    1) The old parties and their sting pullers behind the scenes, haven't even started to attack UKIP on a big scale. So far they probably have had the odd agent inside, creating havok. They give the press the odd stir, if need be. The most successful tactic so far though, is to ignore UKIP when it counts. IE just before the election in question. Sure UKIP might get some token coverage when it doesn't matter, but come elections the shutters come down. I have seen no real action taken to combat that and without huge funds, which is the real hurdle here, UKIP can't win. No funds, no win, end of story.

    2) EVEN if UKIP got the funds together. Even if UKIP raised it's profile. Even if everything came right, the people who UKIP need to vote for them, are more likely to simply not vote. To vote for the massive change that UKIP would be, means people have to be totally sick of the old parties. People who are totally sick of the old parties, tend to think all parties are all the same. That includes UKIP.

With them two, combined with the old parties locking down democracy, by sucking in state funding, while caping the amount the private people can give (no more James Goldsmith in other words), I struggle to see how UKIP can make the progress it needs to. Maybe Nigel has a killer plan, with all his experience of the most sickening part of politics, over there in the clown parliament.

    Sensible posting Andy.

However, I suspect that the egos running the minor parties would all ake the view once expressed by Pope JPII.

He welcomed combining with any other denomination as long as they swore allegiance to the Pope.

i.e. they would tolerate any other group as long as they became roman catholics.

As an enthusiatic believer in withdrawing from the EU I thought my contribution would have been welcomed. Especially as the title of this particular forum is "Anti-EU groups". It therefore seems strange, then, that the Moderator should decide to censor contributions from certain sections. I would earnestly ask the Moderator not to believe everything he/she hears about the BNP. We are not, contrary to the BBC's slurs, a bunch of racist thugs, but a section of the community who happen to believe in restoring the country to a British single culture, British Independence and Democracy (freedom of speech amongst other aspects).
I'm of the opinion that probably the majority of readers of this Board would agree with these aims ?
Perhaps the Moderator would like to clarify as to what he regards as "C***", as he/she so eloquently writes in the vernacular, and that which he/she doesn't. It might be quite illuminating. ;-)

What is 'British single culture'? Because since prehistory those people living on these islands have been influenced by culture from as far afield as North Africa and Russia.

Well I'm another racist thug because like you I support the party that dare not speak it's name! Yours is a very valid point however, it seems that hard left anti-EU people are OK but those of our persuasion are not. I've pointed out to this board on several occasions that I am a family man, university educated, in business and apart from probably drinking too much am not a bad sort really. Most people on here I think welcome debate after all it's pointless preaching to the converted. Still they're an unforgiving lot in Surrey! 8)

personally, I have no issue with some 80% of the policies of the 'B' word party. At least they are truly anti-EU. However, I don't think you should be fooled into thinking that some kind of 'we're not racists really' message is getting through - It's just that people are voting BNP in spite of the racist overtones, as they see no other choice.

I can't see how you will ever overcome this image problem - especially when your own web site links to sales of white nordic supremacy stuff - but perhaps if things keep going downhill in Britain your image won't really matter.

'influenced' is true in the sense of 'gradually adopted' or 'took some of the best bits' - it is clear we do not have a north african or russian culture.

However, if you are trying to excuse the current swamping of our country and the massive changes to our culture and way of life in a few short years, because in the past, we gradually changed over thousands of years, then you really need to examine your history carefully.
