although this was set up for UKIP, I do think that it would be good to get other parties to come along to make it a general political site. I first came here because I do like politics and (on the whole) it seemed a friendly place to be. I did not come here because of UKIP - I think I might have googled "political forum" or something similar.

As an aside, I wonder if I would have voted UKIP in the Euro elections if I had not been a member here? If it is a UKIP vehicle, which possibly worked as it got my vote, then there is no reason why they would actively want to give air time to other parties, is there?

You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself for that Rebecca and as punishment, you shouldn't be allowed to post anything further on the greatest songs thread.

I don't think it is a platform for Ukip, If anything this forum deters me further from voting them.

I certainly do think that we should try to get more Conservative, Labour, LibDem supporters on the BDF. Everyone seems to be singing from two hymn sheets and drowning out a minority who are sining from something else.

How about a facebook recruitment drive?

Also Austin, maybe you could encourage a few your fellow MYP's to join, they are most certainly lefties.

One of the reasons i joined this forum and that i like it, is the fact there are different parties and non aligned people here. Sometimes on your own forums everything always seems rosy because you are only speaking to the same set of supporters, it can get a bit flat. Here you get a different perspective, its interesting to see how others think. I cant see Labour joining though as they detest nationalists and it would get bitter and Conservatives would be too frightened in case they get 'tarred with the same brush'.

There is no question as to whether we should of course we should. The more varieties of views and differences opinions causes more interesting debates. A broad range of members from all over the political spectrum would be great and really fascinating.

So the question is HOW are we going to go about getting in a wider range of viewpoints in this forum?

I also thinks that the question of how to set about getting a broader range of members needs a new thread.
