Good point John - though to judge what is positive and what is negative may be more difficult than you think (e.g. if you're dealing with sarcastic comments), or unless a button is added.

Call my cynical but I think you're opening up a can of worms here Anthony......

Are people capable of making up their own minds about articles/people without having to rely on another persons point of view ?

I suspect it will turn into e-bay's farcical feedback system - i.e.

a) you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours and
b) give me negative feedback, I'll give YOU negative feedback

and the result may be a total shambles.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Also, those groups of people who love each other will give each other positive feedback to create a false impression - hardly accurate ?

Can I "opt out" of the entire system so I don't need to give or receive feedback ?

Please ?........

I think that you can disable the display of your reputation in your User CP > Edit Options

Sorry Anthony, but can't see it anywhere - is it within a particular groupbox ?

The point is that Party or Policy bashing can become more active. For example Akria could come in for a lot of stick for being pro-EU.

But not if everyone gets fed up with him and pops him in their ignore list. In which case he'll only get positive feedback from Clippo, Bess and the other pro-MMGW/EU monkeys - creating a false reputation.

It's a good idea by itself, but I don't see how it sits well with the ignore feature.

I dont agree.

You should be voting on a good post or a bad post,or,not at all, surely?

Posters should be able to post their comments on things, points should be given or not given depending on the content and not the politics.

If you ask a question, give your points on the answers,or,dont score it,but dont gang up on all pro EU posters from day one because it with make things really bad on here and bans will be thrown around again, willy nilly.

I agree that policy bashing could become more prevalent, although I might point out that I'm not pro-EU per se; I merely don't consider it an issue.

I hope you don't get whacked, Akria for your views. I hope that you rather get rewarded with a vote for a good post, or ignored if someone doesn't agree. One shouldn't vote in negation because one doesn't agree. That option should be reserved for breaches of conduct by an aggressor.
