Not
female circumcision Tanny, that’s another thing entirely,
female genital mutilation.
Although FGM is almost always referred to as female circumcision, it’s not.
Female circumcision is an entirely legitimate very minor op that’s very occasionally needed in the case of a medical condition known as “hooded” clitoris”. (I know because my daughter had this)
Female Genital Mutilation is a whole different can of worms.
It’s a brutal assault on a woman that leaves devastating damage and frequently made worse by dreadful infections at the time of the butchery or during her whole life.
Apologists will argue that it is not mandated in Islam, which is actually a case of “obfuscation incarnate” since although not
actually mandated in Islam it is implicitly approved of as an act, and is considered as being supportive in keeping women “pure”.
A very important thing when women are seen as the lesser beings that they are in Islam.
Try this as a mans perspective of what it will be like for a young girl who her family have decides s time to be “cut”.
Think of being grabbed by half a dozen older men and held down on a table, with your legs spread apart.
Then some old man comes in and with a bit of broken glass or a razor blade and cuts off your “helmet” and half of your penis with it.
Not content with that, he then slashes into your scrotum and shoves the stump into it stitching it so that you can piddle through a hole he has made in your now horribly mutilated ball bag.
Later in life, when having been obliged to wed, on your wedding night your bride takes a knife and cuts the stump of what you have left free, and pleasures herself with no regard for your screams.
Thereafter frequent infections, pain, sex a duty that must be endured, and all in order to make sure that you have no motivation to stray.
THAT is what Female Genital Mutilation is all about.
