They did not come because they did not have the technical ability to do so. The fact that, as you admit, they made slaves of other Africans (the ultimate basis of the European slave trade, of course) indicates that they would have done so if they could.
Unlike the far more advanced Arab Corsairs who frequently raided the coast of Cornwall for slaves.
