You have made several unqualified assumptions here-
1. That I did not attend the conference because I could not be bothered
2. That I have a negative opinion on any of the other speakers or speeches
3. That I was somehow criticising the organisation of the conference
4. That having heard the speech in full my fears would have been completely allayed.
I am afraid you are wrong on all counts.
