I arrived back in blighty yesterday after a 12 hour flight from Bangkok. We landed at heathrow, just preparing to disembark when we were all told to sit back down again.
Next minute four coppers looking like robocop are asking for some passenger that was sitting near me. They had moved further back to chat to friends as the flight was half empty and some other dude was in his original seats.
After trying to haul the wrong guy off the plane, they found the guy they were looking for.
I'd been chatting to them throughout the flight a really nice couple, who had been on holiday without their kids for the first time (late teens). The cops wouldn't tell them what it was about until they got off the plane, so needless to say they thought something had happened to their kids while they were away.
The cops were really arsey and acting like total power crazed pricks.
Turns out the fella had not paid a fine he received when he was nineteen. He is now probably fortyish. I was last off the plane and heard them saying they were going to take him to a cash point.
WTF???????
This took four cops a police van and inconvenienced 250 odd passsengers. Do the police 'Service' thirst for revenue so badly that they need to be heavy handed for such minor situations.
A letter or a phone call would probably have done the job but they had to wade in embarrass he and his wife...... absolutely appalling.
I believe I may have made the worst mistake of my life moving back to the facist police state UK, my first and lasting impression of my new life back in England are stormtroopers waiting to haul passengers away.

How dare you suggest Britain is a Police State. Just take it like a ***** and shut up. You are free, free to do what they tell you.
You are going on the database for spending too long on the internet and asking too many questions now.
