Take you position on the damage cause by Collett and Hannam and their prototype, Lecomber. Obviously the vast majority of the electorate don't know who these idiots are, nor do the know who Griffin is, or more than four people in the cabinet for that matter.
However if you had ever been involved in a BNP campaign you would know that the opposition go to extraordinary lengths to inform the local electorate of some of the things these repulsive morons have said and the conclusions which can be drawn from them. The result of this is not that a great many people are expert on the fourth rate front bench of the BNP but that the Party is general considered to consist of entirely of fascists, racists and imbeciles by the entire politically literate class and the electorate of the BNP's target wards.
If this was not bad enough, any moderate sane person desperate enough to fall for Griffin's protestations of contrition and rehabilitation for himself a his party tend to get upset when they discover the truth in the form of people like the reptilian Collett. The result of this is usually a large number of disillusioned, embarrassed and extremely annoyed people walking around the BNP's most fertile areas cursing Griffin and Co as loudly as they can.
As for people like Spence, we will never know what transpired between him and Collett but the line he was a unstable megalomaniac from the leadership has been wheeled out just too many times for it have have any credibility other than with slavish Griffinite toadies with no critical faculties what so ever. Spence was a prominent leader of a protest which was with a couple of days of bring down the British government, a capable man with a proven track record of leadership and organisation. Collett cant even command the respect of his fellow fascists. Spence is quoted as saying the the BNP wasn't what he thought it was, I have a pretty good idea of what he meant.
And if Spence didn't have any chance of winning a by-election what chance have the BNP of ever winning one with candidates like Simon Darby? oh sorry I forgot he's clutching a ticket for the Brussels gravy train and is therefore unavailable to fight I dunno say Crewe this Thursday.
What a shame the Party could not pay for a few new tires for Spence's car, still having laid out 80,000 pounds on entertainment that year according to their accounts maybe there wasn't anything left for frivolities.
I sincerely hope that Bowden has rejoined the Party, because that would mean that none of Griffin's clique of fascist scum can sleep safe in their beds.
I'd give up trying to defend Griffin if I was you Blueblood, and slope off to a place to which your standard of debate is more suited before you cause him any more embarrassment.

Excuse me I am no armchair activist, I am a candidate and an activist as well as other things for my local branch on Merseyside. I know what happens in these campaigns and I know how much effect they have, first time some people see them they are put off but the second time they ignore it as they have seen it all before. Also we have people phoning us telling us they are going to vote for us because of the **** the left have been putting out. The left's campaigns are failing and they are getting desperate, thats why they are now resorting to threatening to attack children.
You accused me of being an Armchair activist, but what do you do?
