Yes, we sure caused a stir by declaring war on Hitler.
On the other hand, problems not dealt with inevitably come back to bite us anyway and we might as well confront problems while we have the advantage.
I also think that opposing totalitarianism is the greatest political calling we can have. Human dignity does not stop at the border. If the principle of non-intervention justifies the maintenance of totalitarianism then it is a bad principle.
