Portsmouth Guildhall is a splendid venue for this type of ceremony. Sadly the original interior was totally destroyed in the blitz but it's still the finest municipal building anywhere in the south of England.

Not as much chance as I would have liked but I do know the area already, my brother did his degree and his doctorate at Portsmouth University.
