Really? Why is that of interest unless you're another of those who persistently seek to divert discussion from a referendum for England as a nation in its own right to referenda in parts of England.
Quite simply, the north east referendum should not have been conducted, nor that for the greater London area! England should have been accorded equality of treatment and voters asked whether they want an English Parliament. Because both Scotland and Wales are too small, the English were denied parity of treatment.
The continued refusal to treat England as a nation whilst treating Scotland and Wales as such, is evidence that the UK constitutionally is dying, is inoperable, and will increasingly become so whilst the present situation continues.
There is widespread scepticism about official [government] announcements, and all that it will take to expose the true lack of authority and cohesion is a crisis which affects much of the English population . . . widespread shortage of petrol or of water, widespread flooding or contamination could trigger breakdown in society.
Many of us are now coming to the view that being British, being part of the UK is detrimental to the English. In consequence, questions arise about continued support for institutions which no longer serve us in the way we want.
In the meantime, we have to listen to the squabbling coming from North Britain whilst being excluded from the debate!
