I suspect you're referring here to my signature rather than my post.
There is only one community you need belong to; humanity. It is a global community. It is a community bigger than any other we as humans can be part of at the moment. It is a community comprised of the sick and of the dying, of the healthy and the children. A community comprised of people, brilliant people, of all races and nationalities and ages and sexes.
It is far larger than England. It is far more diverse. It is far more flexible.
What need, then, for an English community, when we have a world of people to care for us and to care for ourselves?
Nations are nothing but arbitrary divisions of land and people, designed to make governance more efficient, and yet they have caused more wars than any other thing in history.
They are necessary and they are the best option we have.
But to take pride in them is to take another step along the path to humanity's collective suicide, in which we destroy ourselves for things which really don't matter. Pride in a nation is irrational at best, downright immoral at worst.
