In my opinion it would be many times easier to get him elected next time in Parliament than to get a UKIP candidate in from scratch. He has a good majority, so assuming his constituents think he has done a good job he will be favourite for the next time. How much people vote for him vs. voting for the Tory Party remains to be seen. Its unchartered territory so I don't think anyone can really say for certain. But it means he has a big job to do and running for MEP as well would just be too much of an overload for the man. Besides other people will be watching him carefully to see how he gets on. If he gets on well then it will create more pressure in the Tory Party, since a way out will been established for the hardened eurosceptics. Eurosceptics tend to be accompanied by a strong group of eurosceptic constituency supporters and so it might even make him more electable in these places with some people. People's main complaint is often their MP does not do anything for them and usually because the party does not allow them to do anything of any importance, especially on EU matters.
