We have stood in Derby Ward on three ocassions - In 2006 we took 21% 2007 we took 28% and now 38%. It is only the second time we have stood in Litherland, Molyneux and Church.

We focus on local issues - the local sports stadium closing or the lack of park-keepers in the local parks. When we can give local issues the EU angle we do: the Post Office closure, the fortnightly bin collections and Rolls Royce moving to the US which has caused job losses. Our leaflets have also been specifically targeted to each ward and we have taken up local issues across the constituency.

It is also a learning curve: in Derby ward, we won the vote on the day but lost on postal votes - we won't make that mistake again.
