We focus on local issues - the local sports stadium closing or the lack of park-keepers in the local parks. When we can give local issues the EU angle we do: the Post Office closure, the fortnightly bin collections and Rolls Royce moving to the US which has caused job losses. Our leaflets have also been specifically targeted to each ward and we have taken up local issues across the constituency.
It is also a learning curve: in Derby ward, we won the vote on the day but lost on postal votes - we won't make that mistake again.

Thanks to UKIP Sefton for all their hard work, shame it wasn't quite enough to win a seat. I presume there were no concerns about the postal votes.
