I wrote the following letter to the telegraph last Friday:-
Quote:
Sir,
I’m glad to see Charles Clover has published a clarification for his ‘Global Warming will stop for 10 years’ headline ( DT, Wednesday).
Regrettably, it hasn’t stopped the Global Warming ‘deniers’ triumphantly proclaiming ‘we told you so’ on the websites where they don’t actually read details.
I expect in a week or two, it will have been ‘Chinese-whispered’ enough for Christopher Booker to claim again that Global Warming is an EU conspiracy.
The key facts about this scientific study are, firstly it was concerning the Northern hemisphere & mostly Europe, secondly the research was based on ‘surface ocean temperatures, & thirdly it is basically a simple computer model.
A fundamental objection GW deniers have is to the Climate Change modelling process – but they’ll believe a model when it suits them.
There was a poll of climate scientists in the USA recently about reliability of Climate Change news reported in the media. Only 1% of responding scientists believed television news of Climate Change was very reliable. With respect to USA national newspapers, only 11% said it was very reliable but a further 56% said it was somewhat reliable. Draw your own conclusions what some weblogs think of the Telegraph’s headline.
Yours faithfully,

They haven't published it -I wonder why ?
