We can't be the equivalent to whatever we want to be, with the freedom and benefits of Norway and Switzerland. We're beyond skint, we're bankrupt.
We're not even as well off as Poland, at least the Poles don't have the crippling levels of foreign debt that we have.

Just don't confuse economic activity with wealth. The British economic activity has not wealth but debt as its foundation, debt that we now can never repay on our own.
