Lukeair
Hi. My name is Luke. I live in the Highlands, near Inverness and I work for the Ministry of Defence. I'd like to make a few points:
If we're as confused as we are about our own identity/nationality, why are we surprised that there are socialistic entities that want to take away what little freedom we have left.
I hear people refer to England and the English on this the 'British' Democracy Forum. I am English. Living in Scotland I am constantly reminded of this. I was born in the county of Durham to English parents. However, in case it escaped your notice, England and Scotland, under the Acts of Union, 1706 and 1707, united into one nation - the United Kingdom. Those dual acts havent, as far as I know, yet been repealed; although Scotland has virtually declared itself unilaterally independant.
At the moment, England is ruled by a Scottish cartel. A Scottish prime minister, a Scottish chancellor and a Scottish Defence Secretary. England doesn't have a government. Scotland does have its own government, its own parliament and its own Prime (First) Minister. It also governs England. English MP's have no say in the governance of Scotland and neither do Scottish MP's. Scottish voters elect Scottish MP's who then move south to Westminster to govern England.
Up here in Scotland the people laugh and mock at the pathetic English. They delight that you are so stupid that you allow yourself to be governed by a 'foreign' nation while they govern themselves. England has already been abolished and yet you pretend to be concerned about your absorbtion into the European Empire.
