The idea that deliberately overfilling your bin is the act of some principled defender of the freedoms of the British people is risible. If he was making a point why didn't he invite the press to see him overfill his bin as an act of defiance?
I very much doubt he did overfill it on purpose. He has a reasonable sized family and on occasions, it doesn't surprise me that the capacity of his bin is no longer enough for two weeks. I don't have kids and once in a while, even I have a full bin. That doesn't even take into account that he may have forgotten to drag it out one morning etc. Yet he get nothing but hassle for overfilling it slightly. He can't choose to not use the "service" anymore, as he is forced to pay for it. So he decided to be uncooperative. He could have saved himself a load of pain, just by playing along, or being devious. Instead he chose to stand up fight. I respect the guy for that.

Because he probably didn't start out to make a stand, but due to circumstances, found himself in that position. I can't beleive you are backing the state harassing a bloke and his family, because one fortnight, his family managed to overfill their bin slightly. Especially as the current **** poor scheme has been forced down on people from the EU.

Your problem is that you have decided the environmental legislation, much of which was presaged in manifesto promises, is 'bad' law and those who enforce it are 'fascists'.
Yes they were just following orders. That's what people enforcing other peoples fascism have pleaded throughout time. As long as they are on the winning side, it works too.
