Having said this; I read somewhere a while back that the German authorities were not ecstatic about the finished result.
Fact is, the original is so badly written, translating into a coherent and lucid narrative is always going to be a major headache for the translator.

I've never read any edition from beginning to end but I believe some passages which might have been badly received in England were excised.
In my school library, years ago, we had a de-luxe edition full of photographs. I particularly recall photos of the Vienna and London parliament buildings. Hitler denigrated the neo-classical Austrian building (built by a Dane) and lavished praise on Barry and Pugin's gothic pile, which he was later to bomb. It's not surprising they left that passage in.
Has anybody ever read 'The Diary of Briget Hitler'?
