I'll vote strategically to get New Labour out.

That’s the trouble with out electoral system, you can vote for a party whose declared strategies you find attractive but with no chance of the party gaining a seat and so loose the tiny bit of influence your vote actually gives.

In the past the situation was not quite so bad as if it was that you voted for Labour, Conservative, or even Liberal then at least there would be a chance that thee views of that party would be considered during the committee stages of bills, but Blair broke all that and it won’t come back.

In the absence of meaningful PR being introduced the only real alternative is to adopt a strategic voting policy to get rid of the party you don’t want if such is the case.

It’s more than a bit of a shame, the way things are now it’s downright non democratic.
