There are unlikely to be 3000 Joanna Lumleys as claimed by Steve Uncles. It is unlikely that there are 3000 Lumleys in the UK. Lumley is not a common surname like Smith (1.3% of the population), Taylor, Brown, Edwards, White, Williams or Thomas. There are 60 million of us. If there were 30,000 (guess)surnames or variants then that would make an average of 2000 per name. divide by another 1000 first names (weird and wonderful) and you're down to an average of 2 persons with each name. Many first names are only used by a small number of people so that Ottoline (a rare female name) would not feature with all surnames whereas John is popular and would occur with most surnames. For there to be 3000 Joanna Lumleys would possibly imply that the surname Lumley is up there with Smith, Brown and Edwards.
Ludicrous claims do not add to the credibility of the person making the claim.
