OK. Let's take it as given that 80% of the electorate want a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. We can't necessarily assume that all 80% would vote against the Treaty.
That said, we haven't got a referendum and one might ask why. My hunch is that we won't get a referendum because the incumbents don't want a Denmark style "NO" vote on any EU issue.
Just to make my position clear on this matter, I'd support UK withdrawing from the EU.
