A country that doesn't produce anything is heading for financial difficulty(though America and Britain are messing it up in a number of ways in addition to this too).
When all that is left is a service industry we'll be in deep trouble if we're not already....

I'm probably very old fashioned but I think no Country should rely on "Johnny Foreigner", for life's essentials, such as food, power and defence! Surely to be a successful trading Nation you need to be manufacturing what other Countries want. We need pen pushers and the odd paper shuffler, but nowadays that's all we appear to have!
