If any western backed force whacked Mugabe the west would be accused of being anti African and pro colonist by others in Africa, and they would use it as propaganda to further their own ends.
If any African nation were to speak out about Mugabe that government would be accused of being pro west pro colonist by various opposition groups within that nation and any other nation that supported the condemnation and the probability is that all hell would break loose.
The guy has the world by the short and curlies and he knows it.
