Quite right. - and one of the reasons the argument was won in the early days of the party to interact with the EU by standing for the EU elections and taking the seats if obtained. There was a big bust-up I believe (before my time) when certain people (Sked in particular I believe) wanted to refuse to engage with the EEC on principle - like the IRA not taking seats in Westminster. That argument was lost for many reasons - the above being one of them.
