I find it hypocritical of the EDs to slag off the Scots in this way, yet want to retain a union with them. This kind of act will be remembered for years to come, and will make it difficult for the EDs to work in harmony with Scotland in the future. Shooting yourselves in the foot one might say. I bet the SNP see the funny side of these posters! They sent a representative to the EDs AGM last September, I would think they will decline any future overtures from the EDs over this, as will Plaid over the Monmouth debacle. It is a cheap publicity trick for the short term that will have long term repercussions.

At the end of the day, it is for the EDs to employ whatever strategy they wish. If they think the poster campaign is a good thing, that's their business, however, the decent among us might think otherwise.
It's all in the words, isn't it Richard! It suits your book to say "yet want to retain a union with them." when you know full well that many EDP members are willing to press for a separate English Parliament albeit within the framework of the UK but would not oppose - and would probably support - the holding of a referendum about separation of England from one or more of the UK's nations. They see the situation as a two-stage process!

Moreover, they would not want to create a situation in which the likes of Brown would be in the position of safeguarding England's interests in any negotiation of the terms whereby (say) Scotland left the Union! This is a perfectly rational and reasonable position, but for you to portray it as hypocritical is not worthy of you, and (worse) lowers you to the same standard as a certain person - who shall be nameless - with whom you've often locked horns, and probably will do so again.

Of course you are free to disagree with other English nationalists, but it does not help your position if you misrepresent other feasible strategies designed to promote England. Yeah, I know the words 'pot', 'kettle' and 'black' are appropriate, but that's not going to deter me from urging a little more respect for others' policies even [especially] if it means raising standards of debate which I know you are very capable of doing!!!!!

Why join the mindless sloganising ranks of those like blueblood1920 who appear to have nothing worthwhile to say.
